Liposuction is a cosmetic surgery that removes fat from different areas on the body including the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, neck, and arms. Many people choose to have liposuction to remove fat from the body, or for contouring and sculpturing of the body most especially nowadays as lipo suction cost becomes more affordable. Doctors advice that liposuction should not be considered a substitute for dieting and exercising. It can help with those last ten or fifteen pounds that diet and exercise do not always eliminate and for those in good health, may be considered a wise choice, especially to remove those troublesome fat deposits on the body. There is a new form of liposuction that is now being used for cancer patients that allows the reconstruction of breasts after surgery. Fat is taken from around the abdomen or thighs with the help of a machine that uses stem cells to allow the fat to survive. The fat is then injected into the breast where the tumor was removed.

Liposuction is also being used to remove the fat from arms and other areas of cancer patients who have had their lymph glands surgically removed. Lymphedema is caused by the fatty tissue that increases in areas where cancer patients have had lymph glands removed. It can cause loss of mobility in the affected limbs of cancer patients due to the swelling and pain. Removing this accumulated fat has proven to help relieve pain and discomfort for cancer patients.

Liposuction prices can range from $2500-$7000, depending on which area of the body you are having it performed on, how experienced your surgeon is and the age of the equipment the surgeon uses.

Reviews from patients that had liposuction performed also include patients’ discussions of tumescent liposuction cost. One patient report paying approximately $2800, while another paid $7000. Tumescent liposuction is a cosmetic procedure for contouring and sculpturing the body. A solution of local anesthetic and adrenaline is injected into the fat tissue and then used to shrink the capillaries and harden the fat that is then removed. The tumescent technique has been known to have many advantages over traditional liposuction techniques such as fewer complication, faster recovery and smoother results.

Neck liposuction is an outpatient procedure that usually takes one to four hours to complete. A small incision is made to an area on the neck where post surgical scars will be less obvious. There are different techniques that can be used for this procedure such as the super-wet technique which uses a saline solution that contains anesthetic and adrenaline. An older method is the dry liposuction technique, in which no liquefying agent is used. Ultrasound assisted liposuction is fairly newer that the dry method, uses sound waves to liquefy the fat. This procedure is less evasive, minimizes blood loss and bruising.

Laser liposuction cost is determined in two different ways. Some surgeons charge per area treated, while other surgeons charge based on where the area is such as thighs, abdomen, breasts, arms, etc. A lower abdomen procedure averages $3500, but upper abdomen costs on average, $4500. Liposuction performed on the neck area costs about $2500, as well as liposuction performed on thighs.

Swelling and lumps are very common with liposuction and can continue for 3-6 weeks after the procedure is performed. Having liposuction can leave a scar or scars on the body. Burning sensations, bruising, and discomfort are also commonly reported. Nausea and stomach upset are sometimes reported by patients who have had liposuction. Infection is always a risk with any of these cosmetic procedures, whether it is neck liposuction, tumescent, or any of the others. Statistics have also proven that 3 out of every 100,000 people that have liposuction performed have died!

There is always the risk of blood clots for cancer patients who choose to have liposuction performed. For cancer patients taking chemotherapy, your immune system is already weakened, so the chance of infection after having liposuction performed is greater.

For cancer patients, especially, liposuction may be very beneficial and the risks associated with it could be minimal, depending on each patient’s case. The patient’s surgeon can discuss the benefits and risks and help the patient make the best decision.

Cancer is a touchy subject for many people because it is so common and the cure always seems to be lagging. Long before, different forms of researches took place to find the cure for cancer including rare diseases. Today, there are still several studies being performed in different medical research centers for the possible cure of the said diseases.

One of the best results of these study leads to the discovery of an important scientific breakthrough: the stem cells. Scientists reported that these stem cells were those obtained from fetal stem cells which become a controversy. Nowadays, scientists uses different sources of stem cells for a possible cure of certain disease including those fats from different liposuction procedures like those of that liposuction breast tissue, liposuction thigh and tummy areas.

Stems cells rebuild and can be used to manipulate certain areas throughout the body. It is not as common yet as presented in other countries. Many other countries besides the United States have been working on this research for a very long time. China seems to be the more known country because it pushes its publicity on the internet. They also seem to be more reasonable and attainable than other countries. They also have been working on it longer than the United States and have a firm grasp on what needs to be done.

Another country that has been doing a more personalized research is Germany. There are facilities that have found a cure for people with known sugar problems and easier manipulated issues. Germany uses the persons own marrow from a spinal tap to grow needs to be replaced and redistribute it back in the body.

There are four places that are now to have stems cells that can be manipulated for the body. One of which is in the spine. Stem cells can be retrieved by doing a spinal tap on the person. Another place where it can be found is in the placenta when a mother gives birth, you can call a public or private stem cell banking company and the stem cells can be taking directly after birth and sent and stored for future use.

Donor and Donor banks also contribute to Science and Research. The people who donate can sign releases and give their eggs to science to help push the future research for those struggling for a cure.

The final place where stem cells can be found is the most sensitive area to most people. It comes from fetal stem cells. It doesn’t always the best quality of cells because the cells have grown where it could damage the person it’s being injected into.

Stem cells are and coming need for our future, especially for curing rare diseases.

If you encountered with cancer misdiagnosis problem then you have a right to claim compensation for medical negligence. There are two situations related to term cancer misdiagnosis ; first situation ,when the doctor fail to diagnose the cancer while it is present and second situation, when the person is not suffered from the cancer whilst doctor diagnose the cancer in him. In both condition person suffers a lot and therefore he is able to file a case against the doctor for demanding the compensation.

There is a possibility in the first situation of cancer misdiagnosis, the cancerous cells prevail in the others parts of body and thereby making the situation more critical. The person, who is encountered with first situation, is definitely in the position to claim compensation for the personal injury. He has to hire a personal injury lawyer for this purpose. The lawyer will guide him fully in this regard. In order to prove his point he has to show his previous medical reports and prescription in the court. Once other party accepts its liability, the person will get the compensation.

In second situation of cancer misdiagnosis, the sufferer can file a case against the doctor because just because of doctor’s negligence he remained under stress and anxiety and he has undergone unnecessary physical examination and surgery. He can also claim the expenses which he has paid for surgery, treatment and medication. This case is also filed by a personal injury lawyer. However, it is fact that the personal damages are more in first situation of cancer misdiagnosis than that of second situation.

The diagnosis of Womb cancer includes various tests and procedures the purpose of which is to determine the extent, stage and cause of womb cancer. Normally doctors start diagnostic procedure after complete examination and evaluation of the patient’s body, medical history, past illness, medication, family history.

Following tests are used in the diagnosis process of Womb cancer:

Biopsy

It is the best method that helps in definitive diagnosis of womb cancer. Different methods of biopsies are used such as

Endometrial Biopsy

D and C/dilatation and curettage

Hysteroscopy

Endometrial Biopsy:

In this method of biopsy the doctors insert a pipelle , a thin plastic tube into womb by the way of vagina and after that they suck the cells from the womb with the mean of a syringe .Normally women undergone through this procedure when they are awake. In case of pain the doctor suggest some mild painkiller to the patient.

Hysteroscopy:

The doctor uses a hysteroscope , a fine telescope to look into the womb and this way they get the sample from the tissue lining of the womb. This sample tissue is examined under microscope by a pathologist.

D and C (Dilatation and Curettage):

In this type of biopsy the doctor gives a local anesthesia to the patient when she sleeps, the doctor gently opens up the entrance of womb , cervix and then he used a curette, a spoon like instrument, to scrapes the tissue from the womb.

Transvaginal ultrasound scans:

A radiographer or doctor checks the pelvic organ of the patient and after that inserts an ultrasound probe into the patient’s vagina. In case when the thickness of lining is 5mm or less then the patient is not affected by womb cancer but if it is more than 5mm thick, the woman is more likely to be invaded by cancer.

You may get the complete details of womb cancer from this page; what is Womb cancer?

Blood tests

The doctor also performed the CA125 blood test. CA125 is a tumor maker or in other words it is a chemical that is secreted by cancerous cells. Increase level of this maker in the blood means the high risk or womb cancer and vice versa.

Physical Examination

The doctor checks the patient’s neck, heart rate, rhythm and blood pressure to identify any kind of abnormal situation. He also listens to the patient’s thyroid with the help of a stethoscope. In order to locate the signs and symptoms of Thyroid cancer he may examined the patient’s eyes, hair, skin, nails or hands etc.

Thyroid Blood tests:

In the screening process of Thyroid Cancer the doctors may performs various blood tests depends upon the conditions of patients some of these are:

Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) Test

Total T4/ Total Thyroxine

Free T3 / Free Triiodothyronine

Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPOAb) / Antithyroid Peroxidase Antibodies

Antithyroid Microsomal Antibodies / Antimicrosomal Antibodies

Thyroglobulin Antibodies / Antithyroglobulin Antibodies

Thyroid Receptor Antibodies (TRAb)

Imaging tests

Different kinds of imaging tests are used to pinpoint the extent, stage and cause of Thyroid cancer.

Nuclear Scan / Radioactive Iodine Uptake (RAI-U) :

This test is performed to check whether the patient has Graves’ disease, toxic multinodular goiter, or thyroiditis or not.

CT Scan :

The cross sectional images of inside body are taken by connecting an x-ray machine to a computer and this imaging methods helps in detection and diagnosing of a goiter, or larger thyroid nodules.

MRI / Magnetic Resonance Imaging:

This imaging method is best to determine the size and shape of the thyroid tumor.

Thyroid Ultrasound:

With the mean of such method a proper evaluation of nodules, lumps and enlargement of patient is made. It also helps the doctor to differentiate between a mass solid tissue and a fluid-filled cyst

Thyroid Biopsy:

Fine Needle Aspiration or a biopsy helps the doctor to diagnose the cancerous or non-cancerous growth of a thyroid tumor.

Other Diagnostic tests and Procedures:

Iodine Patch Tests

Saliva Testing

Urinary Testing

Basal Body Temperature Testing

Diagnosis of Thymus Cancer involves many advanced techniques and procedures that help the doctor in identification of exact cause of thymus cancer. The Doctor start the screening process by physical examination of the patient of cancer and thereby he tries to pinpoint any kind of abnormalities in the lower neck area of the patient’s body.

It is also said that the sign and symptoms link with myasthenia gravis,or red cell aplasia, hypogammaglobulinemia are helpful for he diagnosis of Thymic Cancer. During physical examination the physician also gathered the information about the medical history, past illness and medication of patient

Once sign and symptoms shows the presence of Thymus tumor then the following imaging and other tests are performed to check the extent , prevalence and spread of cancerous cells in the patient’s body. These tests also assist the doctor in differentiation of cancerous cells and non-cancerous cells.

Imaging tests

Chest x-ray :

It is the first imaging test that is perfomed when the doctor suspects the growth of tumor. In this test the inside body images are present on a film.It is quite helpful in case of large thymomas but for small thymomas this test is not so effective therefore doctor go for some advanced imaging tests like CAT scan , PET scan and MRI.

Computed tomography (CT) scan

It is an advanced method in which the cross-sectional images of inside body are taken with the mean of an x-ray machine linked with the computer. The images are then studied by the doctors. In order to avoid any kind of mistake the doctor gives a liquid named as oral contrast to patient for drinking , this contrast material differentiate the tumor area from the normal ones and thereby the doctor get the idea about the area in which cancerous cells are growing. Other imaging tests are

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan

Positron emission tomography (PET) scan

Blood tests

These tests are not helpful directly for the diagnosis of thymus cancer but somehow helpful in certain cases. Such as a blood test is performed to check that the chest’s mass is not affected by the germ cell tumor or some part of thyroid gland. After diagnosis of thymus cancer, blood cells counts and blood chemistry test are administered to get an idea about the overall health of patient.

Biopsy:

It is quite helpful in definitive diagnosis of thymus cancer , it involves removal of some cells as a sample that is examined under microscope by a pathologist. Two basis types of biopsies are

Needle biopsy

Surgical biopsy

Physical and Pelvic Examination:

The doctor examines the uterus, ovaries, cervix, and vagina to find out any kind of irregularity or abnormality. He may take the Pap smear to pinpoint the abnormal growth area. He may look into the patient’s vagina and cervix via a speculum.

The doctor also ask about the patient’s past illness , medication and surgeries as through this information he try to get the complete idea about the patient’s heath and this also help the doctor to know more about the causes of Vulva cancer.

The patient should inform the doctor about her family history. In case the patient’s siblings like her mother, daughter etc had undergone this cancer then the chances of its presence in the woman increase.

Biopsy

In this test a small sample of tissue is taken from the suspected area so that a pathologist comes to know the presence of vulva cancer. The pathologist examined the sample under microscope so that he get an idea whether cancerous cells affected the patient’s cervix or vagina.

Cystoscopy :

This test is performed to check the inside surface of bladder and for this purpose a lighted tube is used by the doctor. This test is done using a local anesthetic.

Proctoscopy

Protoscopy includes the visual inspection of the rectum with the help of a lighted tube. In case of Advanced vulva cancer, the cancer cells are spread to other areas like in rectum that’s why the doctor may go for this test. The doctor also biopsied the suspected cancerous growth area during this test.

Imaging test:

Computed tomography (CT or CAT) scan:

The CT scan of Chest and Abdomen helps the doctor in determination of exact location and extent of vulva cancer The three-dimensional inside body are taken with the mean of a computer attached to an x-ray machine. The detail images of inside body area assist the doctor in pinpointing the tumors and abnormalities.

Positron emission tomography (PET) scan:

The doctors used this canning method for the creation of images of inside organs and tissues. In this test, a radioactive substance is injected into the body of patient. this substance absorbs in the organ or tissue and after some time the energy that is give off by the substance is scanned by scanner which produces the images. PET scan is quite effective in pinpointing the cancerous cells affected area therefore now the doctor goes for this scanning process.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI):

The images of inside boys are created with the help of magnetic field. It is an advanced method used as an alternative of CAT scan.

The following tests and procedures are used in the diagnosis of vaginal cancer:

Physical Exam, medical and Family history:

It includes the complete examination of patient’s body. The doctor gathers the detail about the patient’s illness, medical history, medication, treatments, surgeries and family history of vaginal cancer.

Pelvic Exam:

In this test the doctor completely examined the following areas like vagina, cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, and rectum. The doctor or nurse place the hand over lover abdomen in order to check any kind of abnormalities in the size or shape of uterus and ovaries. A speculum may be inserted into vagina and after that the doctor look into cervix and vagina so that abnormalities can be seen.Through such test the doctor come to know about the cause of vaginal cancer.

Pap smear:

In this test the cells are collected from the surface of the cervix and vagina and this is done with the help of a piece of cotton, a brush, or a small wooden stick ; through any of it the doctor lightly scrap the cervix and vagina and then collected the cells. These cells are examined under a microscope to identify any kind of abnormalities. This procedure is also known as a Pap test.

Biopsy:

It includes the removal of a small amount of tissue sample from the vagina and cervix and then its microscopic examination by a pathologist .

Colposcopy:

In order to find out the abnormal areas the doctor inserts a lighted flexible tube i.e. colposcope into the cervix or vagina of the patient. The doctor removes the sample tissue via a curette that is a spoon-shaped instrument and then this sample is examined to check the signs of Vaginal Cancer.

Diagnosis of unknown primary cancer involves various test and techniques. The complete introduction of unknown primary cancer is available here. What is Unknown Primary Cancer?

Family and Medical History of Patient:

The doctors ask various questions about the past illness, medicine used surgeries etc so that they came to know about the causes of unknown primary cancer. The patient should inform the doctors everything like his smoking habit , diet, physical activity etc as the information and detail of these things make the diagnostic process quite easy. The patient must share the detail of his family history as it serves as a clue for the doctor.

Physical examination:

In this, the doctor completely examined the entire body of patient and this may include the examination of lymph nodes, pelvis, breasts, rectum, and genitals.

Blood and urine tests:

These test are performed to determine the level of certain markers and proteins in the blood and urine. For example the high level of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is the indicator of neck lymph nodes cancer.

X-ray:

With the mean of an x-ray is a clear cut picture of the inside of the body is taken. Normally chest x-ray is performed to check whether cancerous cells are spread to the lungs or not.

Other Imaging test that are performed during Unknown Primary cancer diagnosis are

CAT / CT scan (Computed Tomography)

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)

Positron emission tomography (PET) scan

Endoscopy:

In this test an endscope that is a thin flexible lighted tube is inserted into the stomach by the way of mouth esophagus and this process is named as endoscopy.

Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test:

This is a test of special protein i.e. Prostate-specific antigen . it is a protein that is released by prostate tissue. The elevated level of this protein means there is an abnormal activity in the prostate and that is an indication of prostate cancer. The men who are feeling bone pain will lead to PSA and the higher level of it increase the risk of prostate cancer in men.

Mammogram:

The women may undergone through this test that is an x-ray of breast in case of cancer in the axillary lymph nodes and sometimes this is suggested when other areas metastatic breast cancer is suspected.

Unknown primary cancer is among the most common type of cancers that are digonesed frequently in the UK. In this case of cancer, the specialist find it difficult to identify the exact area where the cancerous cells grow. You may get the detailed information of this cancer from the page; what is unknown primary cancer? .According to one study about 3 out of 100 cancer patients are affected by primary unknown cancer.

There is no specific cause or risk factor of unknown primary cancer but the doctors have identified some risk factors for this cancer. The information about the risk factors may help you to discus effectively about your disease with your doctors.

It is a known fact that the causes of many cancers are relevant and sometimes it may happen that one cancer becomes a cause of other cancer’s appearance. Here is some causes of unknown primary cancer:

Age: This is a risk factor of many cancers including unknown primary cancer. The risk of cancer attack grows to be high with increase in age. It is evident in a study that persons diagnosed by the unknown primary cancer usually are of over 60. It means that the risk of unknown cancer is more for a people of over age 60 in comparison of other who is under age 60.

Tobacco:

The usage of tobacco in the routine life may be a cause of not only primary cancer but also Lung cancer. Tobacco includes cigarette smoking, chewing tobacco, and cigar smoking. The person who has a habit of smoking may befall a target of unknown primary cancer.

Sun Exposure:

The excessive exposure to sun light is also a major cause of this cancer. It is demonstrated in the research that the people who have constant exposure to sunlight are more likely to be affected by this disease. Sun exposure is also a risk factor of skin cancer.

Radiation Exposure:

The people who had experience some constant radiation treatment in past may become a victim of unknown primary cancer.

Chemical Exposure:

It is shown in the studies that the large amount of chemicals of some manufacturing industries may increase the risk of this cancer if a person has experience of such chemical exposure.

Poor Nutrition:

The intake of poor and unhygienic nutrition in routine life also proves hazardous for a man and may lead to development of unknown primary cancer. One who wants to avoid the risk must include vegetables and fruits in his routine diet.

Lack of Exercise:

The lack of exercise is a minor cause of this cancer so in order to minimize its risk a person must make a habit of exercising.

Family history:

If a person’s close siblings and relative have some cancers such as breast, ovarian, or colorectal cancer then it is possible that he may be affected by unknown primary cancer.
