The exact causes for this type of cancer are unknown although obesity is believed to be a factor in its development, faulty genes are occasionally a factor but the vast majority simply have unknown causes. The tests carried out to diagnose the cause of your symptoms may include an ultra sound scan of the womb to see if there are any abnormalities. A hysteroscopy may be used in which a small tube with a light on the end is used to examine the inside of the womb and a sample of the womb lining is taken for analysis.
